Robert J. Murray
Robert started The Murray Firm in 2011 in a one-room office on Morristown Road in Bernardsville. He had spent the previous decade at larger firms watching elder-law clients get billed by the six-minute increment for conversations that needed to be long. He thought there was a different way to do it.
The firm now spans five offices across New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, but the original idea hasn't changed. Most of his clients work with the firm under the Guidance Program — an ongoing membership that replaces the transactional model with a relationship. Robert designed it after watching his own grandfather's care unravel in the gap between three different attorneys, none of whom were talking to each other.
He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, and is accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs — a designation that authorizes him to represent veterans and their families in front of the VA. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star.
Outside the office, Robert walks his rescue lab Cooper through Bernardsville every morning before opening up, sits on the board of a local hospice, and is a fixture on the sidelines of his children's high-school soccer games. He believes the best legal advice sounds like a conversation a friend would have with you, and he has built a firm of people who agree.
